Designed to introduce governmental functions and career opportunities within the United States and abroad examining governmental documents.

Designed to be introduced to professions in law enforcement, protective services, corrections, firefighting, and emergency management services.

Designed to be introduced to professions in law enforcement, protective services, corrections, firefighting, and emergency management services.

Correctional Services (#7538)

Designed to learn the regulations and responsibilities of a correctional officer; to include tactics, restraint techniques, and first aid procedures.

Term:  Full Year Credits:  1.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

Court Systems and Practices (#7533)

 

Designed to provide an overview of the court systems identifying roles of judicial officers and the trial process from pretrial to sentencing.

Term:  Full Year Credits:  1.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

Prerequisites:  Recommended:  Law Enforcement I or Principles of Government or Public Administration


Criminal Investigations (#7544)

 

Designed to understand functions of criminal investigations and procedures learning terminology, investigative procedures, and CSI scene processing.

Term:  Full Year Credits:  1.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

Emergency Medical Technician--Basic DC (#7552)

 

Designed as an introductory course to concepts, knowledge, and skills needed by EMTs in areas of communications, transportation, and recordkeeping.

Term:  Full Year Credits:  2.0 Grades:  11th - 12th

Prerequisites:  Biology.  Recommended: Principles of Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security, and Anatomy and Physiology.


Firefighter I (#7545)

Designed to introduce students to firefighter safety and development governed by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection rules and regulations.

Term:  Full Year Credits:  2.0 Grades:  11th

Prerequisites:   Recommended: Principles of Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security


Firefighter II DC (#7546)

 

Designed to acquire firefighting knowledge and skills governed by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection rules and regulations.

Term:  Full Year Credits:  3.0 Grades:  12th

Prerequisites:   Recommended: Fire I

Special Notes:  Must meet qualifications to be accepted in the SAC Regional Fire Academy


Foreign Service and Diplomacy (#7508)

Designed to review law, history, media, and international relations associated with the diplomatic environment and foreign service careers.

Term:  Full Year Credits:  1.0 Grades:  12th


Forensic Science (Advanced Science Credit) (#7540)

Designed to learn terminology and procedures related to search and examination of case physical evidence as performed in a crime laboratory.

Term:  Full Year Credits:  1.0 Grades:  11th - 12th

Prerequisites:   Recommended:  Biology, Chemistry

Special Notes: This course satisfies a science credit requirement for students on the Foundation High School Program


Foundations of Court Reporting (#7529)

Designed to acquire the ability to demonstrate real-time, proper grammar, dictation of courtroom documents on a computer-compatible steno machine.

Term:  Full Year Credits:  1.0 Grades:  9th - 12th


Law Enforcement I (#7534)

Designed to understand constitutional law, the U.S. legal system, criminal law, law enforcement terminology, crime classifications, and elements of crime.

Term:  Full Year Credits:  1.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

Prerequisites:   Recommended: Principles of Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security

Designed to formulate governance plans and policies to meet social, economic, and physical needs of communities.
